Installing by hand

Chrome on Android — tap the ⋮ menu, then Add to Home screen. If it offers Install, that’s the app; if it only offers Create shortcut, the page hadn’t finished loading — wait a few seconds and try again.

Samsung Internet — tap the menu, then Add page to → Home screen.

Desktop Chrome or Edge — use the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or the browser menu’s Install entry.

Still nothing?

If you turned an install offer down before, Chrome stops asking for about three months. Clearing this site’s data in your browser settings resets that.
Links opened inside another app — a chat, a mail client, a social feed — often use a stripped-down browser that can’t install anything. Open the page in Chrome or Safari itself first.
Private or incognito windows never install. So do some work-managed devices, by policy.
